HOW TO ADJUST COLOR IN YOUR IMAGE

Created using PSP 9

This lesson will teach you how to adjust/change color in your image pixel by pixel.
I know there are probably other ways of doing this with your PSP but I use this quite often.
Another valuable lesson! :)

There are two areas of color on this goose that we will be changing.

The grey on the neck and the green under the tail.

Locate your 'smudge tool' and make it a size that you can easily work with.

Be sure to enlarge your image.

This will give you better control of your smudge tool for this project.

Continue editing the rest of the grey coloration till the neck is all black.

This is how the neck of the goose should look.

Now we need to change the color of the underbelly of this goose.
We will do this one a little differently as we don't want to make the underside of the goose black.

Locate your 'eye dropper tool'. We will be using this for this next step.

We don't want the under feathers white since they are shaded. We also don't want them black since they are originally white.
With the dropper place it over one of the light colors of the chest area that you feel will be most like what the underside should be. Left click for the foreground color and right click for the background color. Either will work.

  Locate your 'paint brush'.

Now click on one of the squares of the underbelly where we wish to change the coloring.

This is how it will look when finished. Of course, this solid coloring doesn't look just right but you can adjust the color.

Click on the foreground color box and click on a color just a bit darker than the original color.

Do this till the coloring is to your liking.

  Click on your 'airbrush'.

I randomly airbrushed the towards the rear of the section.

I will repeat these last couple steps of changing color and using the airbrush to make the recolored section look more realistic.

This is how my working on this lesson turned out.

I hope you have enjoyed this lesson! - Kaycy
